Completion of an apprenticeship/traineeship

All apprenticeships an traineeships are compentency based.  They are complete when:

  • your apprentice has achieved all the competencies of the structured training
  • you (the employer) have confirmed with the RTO the apprentice's competence in the workplace
  • the RTO enters the information received from you into the apprenticeship database.

Only then does the VRQA write to both you and your apprentice confirming that the apprenticeship is completed.

Trainees will receive confirmation of completion directly from the RTO only.

Early completion of an apprenticeship

Early completion is possible if you and the apprentice's training provider both assess the apprentice as having completed/demonstrated all the necessary competencies.

To apply for early completion:

You and your apprentice must fill out a Statement of Completion (doc - 115kb) and submit it to your Apprenticeship Network Provider.

Reissue of certificate

The VRQA charges a fixed fee for the issue of duplicate certificates. For more information see the Fees and charges web page.

To request a duplicate certificate an Application for Reissue of a Certificate form (doc - 102.5kb) must be completed and submitted to the VRQA.
