Other government agencies involved in apprenticeships and traineeships

Several agencies are involved in apprenticeships and traineeships in Victoria.

As well as the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA), the following have important roles:

  • Victoria's Department of Education and Training administers funding to vocational education and training (VET) providers, develops policy and provides information to all participants in the VET market, including apprentices, trainees and their employers.

The SkillsFirst website provides information about the Victorian Government's approach to Victoria's training and TAFE system.
  • The Commonwealth Government provides financial incentives to employers and apprentices and trainees to participate in and complete their training. It funds the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network to administer these incentives and to provide apprentices and trainees with information and advice throughout their training.
