The SchoolMate app has been launched to help parents of government school students to know more about what their children are learning under the AusVELS curriculum.
Non-government schools who closely follow the AusVELS curriculum may wish to promote SchoolMate among parents of enrolled students.
The SchoolMate app:
- shows parents a snapshot of what children learn in each subject at each year level according to AusVELS
- provides tips as to what they can do at home to help their children
- suggests related apps, books, events and activities relevant to each subject area.
SchoolMate is available in iPhone and Android versions and can be downloaded free of charge from the iTunes app store and Google Play.
SchoolMate was developed by the Department of Education and Training (DET) in collaboration with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority and Victorian teaching subject associations.
