The VET team has had a busy start to the year, conducting a number of information sessions for potential and existing registered training organisations (RTOs). The sessions covered topics such as pre-registration, pre-audit preparation and included an important workshop on the 2016 VRQA Guidelines for VET Providers (docx - 206.95kb)
The workshop, which was held on 12 February 2016, was attended by over 100 RTO representatives and provided a valuable forum for the VRQA to update RTOs on the new regulatory changes in the 2016 guidelines.
'The morning provided an excellent opportunity for RTOs to ask questions and engage in open discussions as to what the 2016 guidelines mean for their organisation,’ said Simon Thorn, VET manager.
The VRQA is collating the feedback provided and will be updating the FAQs 2016 VRQA Guidelines for VET Providers accordingly.
Existing RTOs have until 1 April 2016 to demonstrate compliance with the 2016 VRQA Guidelines for VET Providers. The VRQA is working with RTOs to help them prepare to meet these new requirements.
