Every Victorian school has now completed the VRQA online self-assessment process, with the VRQA receiving all 2232 school child safe standards self-assessments.
Congratulations to all Victorian schools for your commitment to zero tolerance for child abuse.
Only 13 per cent of Victorian schools are yet to submit their child safe standards declaration and statutory declaration to the VRQA. If you have not yet submitted your school’s declarations, please email a scanned copy to email@example.com as a priority.
The VRQA has commenced a pilot program to trial the assessment tools and reporting templates for reviewing schools’ compliance with the child safe standards. The program will inform the process for monitoring compliance which is to be rolled out next year. Thank you to the schools that have agreed to be in the pilot program.
Non-school senior secondary education providers
Thank you to all non-school senior secondary providers for completing the child safe standards self-assessment and for submitting the declarations.
From 2017, compliance with the child safe standards will form part of the review and re-registration process.
Registered training organisations
Registered training organisations (RTOs) are required to meet the chid safe standards from 1 January 2017. RTOs should visit the VRQA’s child safe standards website for more information about the seven standards and to access the resources available.
