The VRQA has formalised its existing arrangement with the Victorian Skills Commissioner by signing a memorandum of understanding on 17 March 2017.
The MoU titled Cooperative arrangements on industry advice and apprenticeship regulation (pdf - 2.27mb), is a collaborative approach to regulation, formalising information sharing between the VSC and the VRQA. It cements both agencies' commitment to industry engagement and a more job ready focus for skills development of apprentices and trainees.
The VSC provides a framework for the Victorian Government, industry and community training, enabling a structured approach for the VRQA to fulfil its regulatory responsibilities.
'This MoU demonstrates the VRQA's co-regulatory approach and highlights our proactive engagement with industry while remaining focused on regulatory responsibilities', said Lynn Glover, VRQA Chief Executive Officer.
