A message from the CEO

Welcome to the e-News. The Education and Training Reform Regulations 2017 came into effect in June, replacing the 2007 Regulations. Details of the new Regulations and how they affect our providers are outlined in this edition.

The Reportable Conduct Scheme came into effect for many of our providers on 1 July 2017. I encourage you all to be familiar with the requirements under the Scheme, which is being overseen by the Commission for Children and Young People.

We have produced a new child safe standards animation with helpful tips for schools to stay on track to embedding a culture of child safety. We have also commenced redeveloping our website and would value your input to help us to understand your needs and online experiences.

Finally, as July marks the VRQA’s tenth year of operation, I would like to reflect on the work of our Board, our stakeholders, peers and colleagues whose expertise and professionalism ensures Victoria’s high quality education and training sector.

Happy anniversary to us!

Lynn Glover
