A message from the Director

Welcome to the 17th edition of E-news.

This edition provides you with results from the annual VRQA survey aimed at measuring aspects of education provider and stakeholder satisfaction, clarity of compliance requirements and adequacy of VRQA support. I would like to thank everyone who took the time to complete the survey and provide us with valuable feedback.

There are a number of important articles relating to VET providers in this edition including principal purpose requirements for registered training organisations (RTOs) and details about who is automatically exempted from this requirement.

I also draw your attention to the revised guidelines for Student Exchange Organisations (SEOs) which come into effect on 1 July 2012.

In addition, you can read about transfer of higher education providers to the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).

You can also read about the tender details for the review services panel for organisations delivering school sector courses to overseas students.

I welcome any feedback on this edition and encourage you to email suggestions for future articles to: vrqa@edumail.vic.gov.au.
