A message from the Director

Welcome to the 23rd edition of E-news. This edition includes a number of important articles relating to requirements for schools. Since the minimum standards for schools were introduced in 2007 there have been new requirements relating to anaphylaxis management, bushfire safety and the assessment of the financial capability of registered providers delivering accredited courses. This year the VRQA conducted a review of the evidence requirements to ensure compliance with the minimum standards and a revised guide will be distributed to all schools in December.

In addition, you can read about the revised bushfire preparedness guidelines for registered schools and a document developed to assist potential Review Bodies understand the type of evidence required by the VRQA when assessing an application.

We welcome any feedback on this edition and I encourage you to email your suggestions for future article topics to vrqa@edumail.vic.gov.au.
