A message from the Director

Welcome to the 25th edition of E-news. I am pleased to advise that the Government has appointed two new members to the VRQA Board on 19 February 2013. The new Board members are David Windridge and Graham Spencer whose qualifications and expertise will be of great value to the VRQA Board. Their biographies are on the VRQA website.

This edition provides you with information about the VRQA fees that took effect on 1 January 2013. In order to assist registered training organisations identify their likely fees an online calculator has been developed on the VRQA website.

In addition, you can read about the revised guidelines for anaphylaxis management in schools. The VRQA considers the updated guidelines to represent best practice and requests all non-government schools use these to review their anaphylaxis management policy.

I also draw your attention to the new National Skills Standards Council (NSSC) policy applying the AQF Qualifications Issuance Policy within the vocational education and training sector. The NSSC has also released a position paper, Improving vocational education and training- the case for a new system.

This edition includes the first information sheet for 2013 featuring home schooling trends in Victoria.
