A message from the Director

A risk framework used to assess the appropriate level of oversight for education and training providers has been published by the VRQA.

The framework reflects the good regulatory practice principles outlined in the Future Direction for the VRQA Statement 2012.

The framework will be of interest to education and training providers as they consider their own circumstances against each of the identified risks.

The VRQA will consult independent schools and relevant stakeholders about the adoption of the Department of Education and Training Recreational Swimming Activity Guidelines as a requirement for all Victorian schools. Further information is available in this edition of e-news.

Finally, a reminder that registered training organisations (RTOs) registered with the VRQA can apply for a standing application to assist in keeping their scope of registration up-to-date.

There is no fee to lodge a standing application or in relation to changes to an RTO’s existing scope of registration made under a standing application.
