A message from the CEO

A message from the CEO

As the year draws to a close I would like to reflect upon the outstanding efforts of those in the education and training sector who worked with us to implement Victoria’s child safe standards. The standards drive a cultural shift where child safety is embedded in organisational practice; their implementation has demanded significant work, engagement and commitment from all involved.

In the school sector, I am pleased to report we are waiting on only a small number of declarations to be returned. If you have not yet done so for your school, I urge you to do so as a priority.

2017 will see the standards come into effect for VET RTOs. The VRQA will be further communicating with our registered providers on this shortly.

Thank you to all our stakeholders, providers and employers for working with the VRQA throughout 2016. I wish you a safe and happy holiday season and look forward to continuing our work in 2017 .

Lynn Glover
