VRQA Contractors’ Seminar
On 29 October the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority held its third Contractors’ Seminar.
The VRQA works with a number of individuals and groups who can be collectively referred to as contractors these are school reviewers, auditors of training organisations and others who undertake work on behalf of the VRQA across all sectors.
Mr Stuart Hamilton, Chair of the VRQA Board opened the seminar speaking on the VRQA’s approach to regulation and quality assurance, outlining the achievements of the past year and the significant changes occurring at the Commonwealth and State level in the education and training sector that will impact on the work of the VRQA.
Other presentations (see below) included the work being done on the State Register project, an update on international education matters, including the program of rapid audits being conducted by the VRQA and an informative presentation on cultural awareness by the Victorian Multicultural Commission.
Following the presentations the VRQA staff and contractors participated in a panel discussion, where they had an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
The next VRQA Contractors’ Seminar will be held in March 2010.
