International Education
The VRQA approves education providers for inclusion on CRICOS – the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students, administered by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
The VRQA also approves provider to be included on AUSlist – a register of education providers delivering Australian Qualifications overseas, and registers and quality assures International Student Exchange Organisations.
The VRQA International Unit coordinates the registration and quality assurance arrangements for education providers to deliver courses to international students in Victoria. These arrangements include:
- initial registration to deliver courses to international students in Australia (applying for initial CRICOS registration)
- amending existing registration on CRICOS by:
- adding new sites
- applying for an increase in maximum student enrolment capacity
- notification of changes to provider ownership, management or operations
- other changes to CRICOS registration
- accrediting or removing courses for international students by:
- adding new courses to CRICOS scope of registration
- deleting courses from CRICOS scope of registration
- approval for AUSlist for delivery of Australian Qualifications to students outside of Australia
- registering and quality assuring International Student Exchange Organisations.
