Approval to provide courses to overseas students

VET and non-award courses

The VRQA is the designated authority for approving organisations to deliver courses to overseas students for all sectors of education and training in Victoria. This authority is given under section 4.5.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006.

If your organisation wishes to deliver vocational education and training (VET) or non-award courses to overseas students in Victoria, it will need to lodge an application with the VRQA.

An application for CRICOS approval for VET courses may be lodged simultaneously with an application for registration as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or separately. An RTO will need to have scope of registration for the VET courses it wishes to deliver to overseas students.

There is no national recognition provision for CRICOS approvals. If an organisation wishes to deliver courses in another State/Territory to overseas students, it must apply to that State or Territory directly.
