Schools

All schools in Victoria must be registered by the VRQA.

Minimum Standards for Registration

Schools in Victoria are required to meet minimum standards for registration as described in the Education and Training  Reform Regulations 2007 (PDF - 719Kb).  These standards have been developed for schools offering Years Prep to 10, and for schools offering senior secondary qualifications e.g. VCE, VCAL and the IB.

Two guides have been developed to provide advice regarding the minimum standards and other requirements for school registration.  One is designed to assist existing registered schools and one for individuals or organisations seeking to register a new school.

For registered schools: Minimum standards and other requirements for school registration: Guide for a registered school. (PDF - 163Kb)

For new school applicants: Minimum standards and other requirements school for registration: Guide for a school applying to register. (PDF - 167Kb)
