Changing a School’s Particulars

It is a condition of registration that a school must notify the VRQA within 30 days of any change to its particulars in accordance with Regulation 69 of the Education and Training Reform Regulations 2017.

To ensure the VRQA has accurate and current information about a school’s particulars, a registered school must notify the authority within 30 days of any changes to specified details of a school.

There must be evidence in the form of written notification to the VRQA of changes to:

  • the name or contact details of the proprietor, principal, president of chair (as the case requires) of the school’s governing body
  • the address of the school or any existing campus
  • the school’s religious or other affiliation.

Changes to school's particulars before 1 July 2018 are subject to the Education and Training Reform Regulations 2007 and the Guidelines to the Minimum Standards 2016 (doc - 2.83mb).

Changes to school's particulars from 1 July 2018 are subject to the Education and Training Reform Regulations 2017 and Guidelines to the Minimum Standards 2017 (doc - 4.06mb).

A registered school’s religious or other affiliation is shown on the State Register as 'denomination'.

A registered school must notify the VRQA of a change of its religious or other affiliation by completing the Request to Change Religious and Other Affiliation (doc - 409kb). There are no fees associated with this request.
