Training organisations must be registered by a state or territory recognition authority to be eligible to issue qualifications and statements of attainment under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
The VRQA is the authority for Victoria that registers vocational education and training (VET) providers who provide courses to domestic students only and who limit delivery to Victoria and Western Australia.
How to apply for VET registration
To apply to register as a training organisation with the VRQA, you must:
- Check registration requirements
- Determine your organisation's scope of registration (some courses require additional approvals from third-party agencies)
- Submit an application to the VRQA.
For more information about how to apply, see the questions and answers page: How to Become a Registered Training Organisation.
Pre-registration Information and Financial Management Guidance sessions
If you are intending to register your training organisation with the VRQA you must attend a financial management guidance session. It is strongly recommended that you attend a pre-registration information session.
How to apply to deliver education and training to international students
To become registered to provide education and training to international students you will need to apply with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). For more information, see: ASQA website.
