Schools registration
Schools
All schools that operate in Victoria must be registered with the VRQA. Through this registration process, the VRQA ensures that schools comply with the state's registration standards.
In this section you can find information on:
- registering a new school
- amending an existing registration
- review of schools
- bushfire guidelines
- fees.
Registration standards
In order to be registered, all schools must meet a set of minimum standards. The following resources will help you assess whether you meet these standards and the other requirements of registration:
- Guide for a registered school: Minimum standards and other requirements for school registration (school registration guide: registered schools (PDF - 524Kb))
- Guide for a school applying to register: Minimum standards and other requirements for school registration (school registration guide: school applying to register (PDF - 507Kb))
The registration standards are described in Part 5 and Schedules 2-5 and 7 of the Education and Training Reform Regulations 2007 . Schedules 2 and 3 are particularly relevant to new school applicants.
