Application for School Registration

Closing dates for non-government school applications for 2010

There are one closing date left for 2009 for individuals or organisations seeking to register a new school or seeking to amend registration of an existing school for commencement in 2010. Schools seeking to relocate may submit an application at any time prior to the relocation. The closing date for applications is:

Monday, August 31

It should be noted that the time required to prepare for, and then register, a new school is significant. Planning and registration commonly takes eighteen months or longer.

New school applications received on August 31 may not be registered in time for the commencement of the 2010 school year.

Information about the school registration process is available from the Quality Assurance Schools Unit on telephone 9651 3295 or by email to  vrqa.schools@edumail.vic.gov.au.

Note: All Victorian Government school registration queries should in the first place be directed to the school’s regional office. Applications for the registration of a government school are then managed by the Group Coordination Unit, Group Coordination Division, Office of Government School Education, DEECD. The Group Coordination Unit can be contacted on ogse.group.coordination@edumail.vic.gov.au.

Briefings

The VRQA holds briefing sessions for organisations or individuals who are considering applying for registration of a new school or amending the registration of an existing school before each application closing date.

This briefing includes information about the registration process and compliance with the Minimum Standards for Registration of a School.

For further information contact us at  vrqa.schools@edumail.vic.gov/au.au or call 9651 3295.

There is no charge to attend a session.

Application process for new non-government school applicants
