Senior secondary awarding bodies

The VRQA can register an organisation or body to award or issue a senior secondary qualification to students in Victoria.

• The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) (www.vcaa.vic.edu.au) is registered to award and issue the VCE and the VCAL. 
• The International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO)  (www.ibo.org) is registered to award and issue the IB Diploma in Victoria. 

A school or other provider is registered to provide the senior secondary qualification but does not award or issue the qualification.

Schedule 8 of the Education and Training Reform Regulations 2007 (PDF - 702Kb) sets out the prescribed minimum standards for registration as an awarding body. The VRQA is currently developing processes for registration.
