State Register

The Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) will set up and maintain a State Register of providers and all accredited courses and qualifications. It will ensure that meaningful information is available to the public about:

The State Register will include schools; TAFEs and private RTOs; and higher education providers.

By using the State Register, you will be able to check that a school or VET or higher education provider has been approved by the VRQA as meeting Victorian and national standards. You can also check that a qualification or course is accredited.

Certificates and Statements of Achievement

A provider on the State Register can guarantee that a student who successfully completes all or part of an accredited course or qualification will be issued with a certificate, statement of achievement (Statement of Results, Statement of Attainment) or both. Whatever pathway followed, certificates and statements are evidence of learning achieved. Students who successfully complete units, whether VET units of competency, modules or senior secondary units, do not have to repeat the identical units if they enrol in another qualification or with another provider. Students must present the certificate or statement listing the units completed as evidence to receive recognition.

If students experience difficulties with a provider concerning recognition of their qualification or statement, they should contact us.

Until the State Register is developed you can access the following information through the menu on the left hand side:
