Vocational Education and Training (VET)

The VRQA is responsible for the regulation of more than 1300 Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) in Victoria. For Information about becoming and operating as an RTO see  Registering as a Training Provider.

The VRQA also approves VET training providers to deliver courses for overseas students (CRICOS providers), which include RTOs, schools, English language colleges and RTOs operating in States and territories operating outside Victoria.

In addition to being a registering body, the VRQA is the recognition authority that accredits VET courses in Victoria. See Accrediting VET courses.

The VRQA also handles complaints about Victorian registered training organisations (RTOs), including TAFE institutes, private training companies and adult education centres. See Complaints - VET Providers.

AQFT 2007 Quality Indicators have been designed to assist RTOs to strengthen their training and business performance.  All RTOs will be required to collect, use and report Quality Indicator data to the VRQA on an annual basis.  See Quality Indicators.
