Benefits of Being Registered
All training organisations (including TAFE institutes) that issue qualifications and statements of attainment under the Australian Qualifications Framework must be registered by a State or Territory recognition authority. In Victoria, that authority is the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority.
Becoming a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with the VRQA allows an organisation to:
- attract students seeking nationally recognised training throughout Australia
- market nationally recognised training using the Nationally Recognised Training logo
- promote itself on the National Training Information System (NTIS)
- promote itself and the training it deliver through the Victorian TAFE Course Directory and the TAFE Course Line
- issue nationally recognised qualifications that articulate into other programs
- select qualifications to meet training requirements from a large number of accredited courses and Training Packages
- contribute to the continuous improvement of quality in the national training and further education system
- be eligible to tender for public funding for vocational education and training
- ensure that it meets nationally endorsed quality assurance standards under the Australian Quality Training Framework.
