The Registration Process - Step 3 – Approval of the application
Back to Steps list Step 1- Collecting information Step 2 – Preparing an application Step 3 – Approval of the application
Assessment
Your application will be assessed for accuracy and completeness and further information may be requested. Your organisation will be required to undergo an external audit to review your compliance with the AQTF 2007 Essential Standards for Registration and your capacity to deliver the training and assessment included in your application.
VRQA decision
The registration decision will take into account all the information supplied in support of your application and the outcome of any audit for compliance with the AQTF 2007 Essential Standards for Registration. If granted, registration will be for a period of up to five years.
On approval, your organisation’s name, scope of registration and contact details will be entered on the State Register and the National Training Information Service (NTIS). The NTIS is the national database on vocational education and training in Australia. Under the conditions of registration an RTO must provide advice to the VRQA of any significant changes to its training operations.
Formal advice of decision
You will receive formal advice about the outcome of your application. If successful the VRQA will allocate an RTO number and send you a Certificate of Registration and a copy of your Scope of Registration. If your application is not successful, the VRQA will provide you with a written report outlining the reasons for the decision and refund the first year's registration fee.
Appeals
A person whose interests are affected by a decision of the VRQA may apply to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) for a review of that decision.
