A message from the Director

Welcome to the eighth edition of E-news. This edition provides you with information on the recent VRQA client satisfaction survey. This was our third annual survey aimed at gaining a greater understanding of your needs and expectations. I would like to thank those of you who participated in the survey for taking the time to provide us with your views.

I draw your attention to the changes that flow from the machinery of government arrangements following the recent state election.

I am also pleased to provide you with an update on the re-registration of the International Baccalaureate as an awarding body and the re-accreditation of the International Baccalaureate Diploma in Victoria.

The Tertiary Education and Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA) has issued a December 2010 sector update (PDF download - 426 KB) which will be of interest to many of you.

International Baccalaureate

In December 2010, the VRQA Board approved the re-registration of the International Baccalaureate (IB) as a senior secondary awarding body authorised to award the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Diploma) in Victoria. The Board also approved the reaccreditation of the IB Diploma as an accredited senior secondary qualification from 1 January 2011 until 31 December 2013.
