All Victorian registered schools must have a clear enrolment policy that complies with all applicable State and Commonwealth laws.
In the updated Guidelines for the Minimum Standards and Requirements for School Registration (Guidelines), the evidence requirements for the enrolment policy standard have been expanded to specify what a school's enrolment policy should include.
Here's an overview of the changes to the enrolment policy standard.
For all schools, there is a new evidence requirement:
- a publically available enrolment agreement with parents or guardians which covers: codes of conduct for students and parents; fees; educational services provided; and the grounds on which the agreement may be terminated.
For government schools, there is a new requirement:
- parents and guardians must be able to access enrolment forms, the parent payment policy and a schedule of charges for the school.
The updated Guidelines commence on
1 July 2019 for all Victorian registered schools.
