Updated unit required for infection control skill sets

Amend your RTO scope to continue delivering transport and logistics, retail and food handling infection control skill sets. The Australian Industry and Skills Committee has revised and endorsed HLTINFCOV001 (Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures), which includes skills for managing coronavirus (COVID-19) risks.

The new unit of competency is based on HLTINF001, and replaces that unit in three infection control skill sets:

  • Retail (HLTSS00065)
  • Food Handling (HLTSS00066)
  • Transport and Logistics (HLTSS00067).

To continue or start delivering these skill sets (stand-alone or within a qualification), VRQA-registered RTOs must apply to add HLTINFCOV001 to their scope of registration.
