BuildUP is a VRQA campaign aimed at protecting the rights of, and minimising harm to, women apprentices in the building and construction industry.
It includes a BuildUP hotline for Victorian women and non-binary apprentices in building and construction who aren’t getting a fair go.
If this is you, or you’re concerned about someone, you can call or email BuildUP today.
The VRQA is working to ensure that all women building and construction apprentices are treated with respect and receive quality training.
Employers of women apprentices must provide:
- a safe workplace
- appropriate supervision
- access to the tools and equipment they need to learn the skills for their qualification.
If this isn’t happening, the VRQA can help.
SpeakUP
The hotline is open 9.00 am to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday for the next 2 months.
You can leave a message at any time and remain anonymous if you wish.
